Yes, Toronto Pearson has staffed luggage storage in both terminals. The Excess Baggage Company runs a counter in Terminal 1 on the Arrivals level, open 05:00 to 23:00 every day, and another in Terminal 3 on the Departures level, open 05:00 to 22:00. You pay per bag, the rate depends on size, and you can book online in advance or simply walk up with your suitcase.

Most North American airports removed public storage years ago, so Pearson is a pleasant exception. The counters take anything from a two-hour coat drop to a stay of several weeks.

Where the counters are

In Terminal 1 the counter is on the Arrivals level, on the main concourse in the Domestic Arrivals area, before security. Coming off a flight, follow the arrivals flow to the public hall; the desk is visible from the concourse.

In Terminal 3 the counter is on the Departures level (Level 3), in the check-in area by desk 5, next to the escalator and lift. Both points are in the public zone, so passengers, greeters, and visitors between hotels can all use them.

Hours and prices

Terminal 1 works every day from 05:00 to 23:00, Terminal 3 from 05:00 to 22:00. Storage is charged per bag, with size setting the price. The operator shows current rates during online booking (the form accepts from 1 to 30 items in one reservation) and at the counter. Leave yourself a margin before closing time for pickup.

The same desks do more than storage. They handle parcel delivery, sell luggage and travel accessories, and arrange baggage transfers to and from hotels. Travellers bridging an Airbnb checkout and an evening flight often use the counter as a mid-day base for their bags.

Rules to know

Standard security rules apply: no dangerous goods such as loose lithium batteries, fuel, or aerosols, and staff may ask to inspect a bag. Keep passports, medication, and valuables with you.

Bring a photo ID for registration, and keep the receipt. It is your claim ticket at pickup, and replacing a lost one takes time you may not have before boarding.

Cheaper alternatives in the city

For multi-day storage, app-based networks such as Bounce list partner locations around Toronto from about CA$2.50 to CA$5 per bag per day, which undercuts any airport counter. They make sense when your route passes through downtown anyway.

The airport counters win on convenience for same-day trips: no detour, long hours, and the bag waits exactly where your flight leaves. Staying close by instead? See hotels near Pearson.

What to do with free hands

A stored suitcase turns a long Toronto stopover into a day out. The UP Express train reaches downtown in about 25 minutes, and our day trips from Toronto guide covers ideas from the islands to wine country. With six or more free hours, Niagara Falls is realistic; our Pearson-to-Niagara guide breaks down the timing and transport.

If your wait is shorter, the lounges at Pearson and the quiet corners from our sleeping guide are closer at hand, and the layover guide covers the in-between options.

Frequently asked questions

How much does luggage storage at Pearson cost?
The fee is per bag and scales with bag size. Current rates appear during online booking and on the price board, with oversized items costing more than cabin bags.
